Senior Litigation Secretary – Construction Law Practice
Our client, a highly respected mid-sized law firm in Orange County, is seeking a Senior Litigation Secretary to support its busy construction law practice group. About the Role
The Senior Litigation Secretary will provide high-level administrative and litigation support to a team of attorneys, managing complex calendars, preparing legal documents, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, revise, and format legal documents (pleadings, discovery, correspondence, etc.)
- File documents in state and federal courts, including e-filing
- Maintain attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and track deadlines
- Manage case files, organize exhibits, and assist with trial preparation
- Coordinate with clients, experts, and court personnel as needed
- Handle expense reports, billing support, and time entry
Qualifications
- 7+ years of litigation secretary experience (construction law or complex litigation preferred)
- Strong knowledge of state and federal court rules and e-filing procedures
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and legal document management software
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently

• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Litigation Secretary, with preference for candidates with 10+ years.
• Expertise in construction and surety litigation preferred; familiarity with complex civil litigation required.
• Proficiency in e-filing systems, including PACER and First Legal.
• Strong skills in calendar management, particularly using Compulaw and Outlook.
• Advanced knowledge of legal document formatting, including section and page breaks.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle high-pressure situations.
• Familiarity with document management tools like ShareFile and NetDocs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple attorneys and adapt to their individual work styles.
