Job Description
Job DescriptionMicrobiologists are responsible for conducting microbiological on cannabis samples, interpreting results, and ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of testing procedures in an ISO 17025 accredited testing laboratory.
• Perform routine microbiological tests on cannabis samples, including microbial enumeration, pathogen detection, and microbial identification.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and test methods to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with ISO 17025 standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare culture media, reagents, and samples for analysis, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments for microbial testing, including incubators, autoclaves, microscopes, and colony counters.
• Document test results, observations, and deviations accurately and promptly in laboratory notebooks and electronic systems.
• Assist with data analysis, quality control checks, and method validation studies as needed.
• Adhere to health and safety protocols, including the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Requirements• Bachelor's degree in microbiology, biology, or a related field.
• Prior laboratory experience or coursework in microbiology is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow instructions.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
