American Power Innovations, a $40M manufacturer of electrical equipment and skid-based products, is seeking a Field Service & Commissioning Technician. Overview

The Field Service & Commissioning Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of services and activities on-site to support the Aftermarket & Service Department. This position will be responsible for undertaking on-site commissioning and maintenance activities, troubleshooting, training, and site supervision developing excellent end user relationships always exceeding our customers’ expectations.

Responsibilities

• Working on packaged equipment systems within the oil, gas and petrochemical industries which will involve extensive travel time away from home.
• Individually undertaking on-site commissioning of equipment, general maintenance, troubleshooting, fault finding analysis, installation supervision, plant surveys and inspections, and drafting and delivering training to end user personnel.
• Prepare RAMS, site visit reports, and maintain timesheets for submission to clients.
• Installation and start-up of industrial control systems.
• Participate in a rotational “On Call” service (after hours & weekends).
• Use the Service & Commissioning activity as a platform to identify potential opportunities for additional aftermarket spares and site service support.

Education and Experience

• Able to work confidently on your own as well as part of a team.
• Prepared to travel 25-50% per year.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematic diagrams & mechanical drawings.
• Minimum 5 years of experience troubleshooting industrial machinery.
• Ability to troubleshoot PLC’s and Servo motion controllers.
• Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and program AC VFDs and DC motor controls.

*MUST BE ABLE TO PASS DRUG TEST (including hair follicle)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $28.00 per hour
