Perform microbiological testing on cosmetic products in accordance with USP , USP , USP Suitability, and USP standards. Conduct method suitability testing to validate sterility procedures and eliminate antimicrobial interference. Prepare and analyze samples for microbial enumeration and identification of objectionable organisms. Maintain, calibrate, and clean laboratory equipment to ensure sterility and accuracy. Document all procedures, results, and deviations in compliance with ISO standards. Develop and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for microbiological testing workflows. Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and laboratory best practices. Communicate findings and updates to the Lab Manager and relevant stakeholders.
Responsibilities

Essential Skills
- Proficiency in microbiological techniques and regulatory protocols.
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a microbiology lab, preferably in cosmetics or pharmaceutical testing.
- Knowledge of GMP/GLP/GCP standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with USP , , Suitability, and testing protocols.
- Familiarity with ISO quality management systems.
- Proven ability to create and maintain SOPs.
- Experience with Preservative Efficacy Testing.
Work Environment
The role involves working in a small bench lab for 3rd party cosmetics testing. The technician will be the sole lab operator reporting to the laboratory manager.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
