Job Description:
Blazer Jobs is currently seeking a compassionate and credentialed Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a full-time, school-based position in Cumming, GA. The TVI will work with students across various grade levels who are blind or visually impaired, ensuring access to academic content and promoting independence in the classroom and beyond.
This role involves both direct and consultative services and requires strong collaboration with general and special education teachers, related service providers, and families.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct instruction to students in areas such as Braille, assistive technology, daily living skills, and orientation

Modify curriculum and materials to ensure accessibility for students with visual impairments

Assess student abilities and develop appropriate IEP goals and accommodations

Collaborate with school teams and participate in IEP meetings

Train staff and families on tools and strategies that support visually impaired students

Maintain accurate records, service logs, and progress reports in compliance with district and state requirements
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or Visual Impairment

Valid Georgia teaching certification with an endorsement in Visual Impairment

Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired in a school setting

Proficiency in Braille and familiarity with assistive technology for visual impairment

Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
-
Ability to pass background checks and fingerprinting
