Position Overview
The Geotechnical Project Manager will lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects with a focus on compliance with Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) standards. This role involves overseeing the design and analysis of foundations, conducting site investigations, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget while adhering to quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee geotechnical engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Ensure compliance with TxDOT regulations and standards throughout project lifecycles.
- Conduct foundation design and analysis for various construction projects.
- Coordinate and conduct site investigations to assess subsurface conditions.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for project stakeholders.
- Monitor project budgets and timelines, making adjustments as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Lead risk assessments and implement quality control measures during project execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, specifically with TxDOT projects.
- Proven experience in project management and leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of foundation design and soil mechanics.
- Familiarity with site investigation techniques and construction materials.
- Understanding of environmental regulations related to geotechnical engineering.
- Experience in budget management and risk assessment.
- Excellent communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and technical reporting.
