Our client is a global leader in precision machinery for optical manufacturing, known for cutting-edge innovation and exceptional customer satisfaction. They design, build, and service advanced CNC and automation equipment used across North America. As their business continues to grow, they’re seeking a Field Service Technician to join their team.


About the Role

The Field Service Technician will travel across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico to install, maintain, and support CNC-based equipment. This role offers a mix of technical problem-solving, customer training, and hands-on service work in the field. When not traveling, you’ll provide remote technical support and assist with exhibitions or trade shows as needed.


Key Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and perform preventive maintenance on advanced machinery at customer sites.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues.
  • Provide customer training and ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Deliver remote technical support when not traveling.
  • Support equipment setup at trade shows and technical demonstrations.


Qualifications

  • Associate degree, certification, or trade school diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, or Automotive Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1+ years of electromechanical maintenance experience.
  • Minimum 1+ years of hands-on experience with CNC machinery.
  • Working knowledge of PLC systems, electrical schematics, blueprints, and C++ concepts.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and an active passport (for international travel).
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
  • ASE certification and ISO 9001 experience preferred but not required.


Physical Requirements

  • Frequent lifting/carrying up to 20 lbs; occasional lifting of 50+ lbs (with assistance as needed).
  • Ability to push/pull equipment up to 50 lbs using handcarts or other tools.
