JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE:
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Production Supervisor directs the overall module operations ensuring the achievement of production objectives at the lowest cost consistent with the company quality standards and customer delivery requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded from time to time to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary.
- Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities. Works in conjunction with the EHS Manager to establish and maintain all policies and programs to assure a safe working environment. Complies with all safety and health guidelines, quality standard practices/procedures and housekeeping standards.
- Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments to ensure the production of company products at the highest quality at the lowest possible cost, meeting company performance standards, and customer specification and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure the training of new and present employees in the processes and methods required to achieve the company’s standards for quality, quantity, safety, and ISO/TS.
- Participate in planning meetings, recommending space, personnel, and equipment requirements. Be part of the hiring process.
- Ensure adherence to ISO/TS procedures and requirements, participate in ISO/TS planning sessions.
- Recommend preventative maintenance procedures and plan the repair of machines and equipment to minimize downtime.
- Continually evaluate processes and methods, recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment, performance, utilization of people, and quality of product.
- Act as a technical resource to address and resolve inquiries and problems; analyze and resolve work problems, and assist workers in solving work problems.
- Maintain departmental supplies, tools, equipment, and order as necessary.
- Ensure the completion of all required production paperwork, records, documentation, such as time cards, quality records, etc.
- Enforce safety regulations.
- Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
- Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
- Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Observe work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
- Conduct employee training on equipment operations or work and safety procedures, or assign employee training to experienced workers.
- Conduct employee probationary and eight-month performance reviews.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
- Keep records of employees' attendance and hours worked.
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
- Supervisory Responsibilities – Manage Lead Technicians and Manufacturing Technicians.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
This position requires a high school diploma or HSED/GED Equivalent. Must possess good computer skills and be able to learn new skills as needed. This position requires one to two years of training.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Must be able to effectively communicate with other employees to share information, solves problems, and instruct or train lesser skilled employees. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as part drawings, shop orders, work plans, and short correspondence. Must be able to write standard reports and documentation.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Requires the ability to operate various equipment to include computer, various precision measuring devices and lifting devices. Requires a broad knowledge of tooling, material characteristics, and general manufacturing and machining practices. Should be knowledgeable and/or familiar with applicable ISO/TS and quality system requirements and policies.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
Safety glasses and safety shoes must be worn in all manufacturing areas. Additional PPE may be required as needed
