City of Fort Wayne – Water Pollution Control Plant

Position: Industrial Electrical Technician

Pay: $31.00 – $36.50 per hour

Schedule: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Location: Fort Wayne, IN

What You'll Do:

  • Troubleshoot, program, calibrate, and repair equipment and automated systems at the Filtration and WPC Plant
  • Work with PLCs, SCADA, VFDs, telemetry, instrumentation, and electrical/electronic systems
  • Design, install, and maintain electrical circuits and control systems
  • Assist with capital improvement projects, budgeting, and planning
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on low and medium voltage systems
  • Maintain fiber optic networks and process/computer systems
  • Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code and City safety regulations
  • Train and assist other employees as needed
  • Remain on-call for emergencies

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or technical school plus 3 years experience, OR 5 years related experience
  • Allen County Journeyman Electrician License (or 5 years documented experience in Industrial PLCs/electrical systems)
  • CPR, First Aid, Confined Space Entry certification
  • Valid Indiana Driver's License
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills
