BE&SCO Manufacturing designs and builds high-quality tortilla, flatbread, and bakery equipment. We are looking for a dependable and skilled Material Cutter to support our production team by cutting, forming, and preparing metal components used in our equipment.
Job Summary
The Material Cutter is responsible for measuring, cutting, bending, drilling, and fabricating metal parts including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. This role works from blueprints, schematics, and work orders and uses a variety of tools, machines, and measuring instruments. The position also supports basic assembly, grinding, polishing, drilling, milling, and tapping work as needed.
What You’ll Do

Read, understand, and interpret drawings, schematics, and engineering blueprints

Set up and operate machines including brakes, saws, shears, cutters, drills, mills, lathes, and presses

Fabricate accurate, high-quality parts according to specifications

Measure and mark cutting and bending lines

Perform first-piece and in-process quality inspections

Assist machine operators and operate production machinery as needed

Maintain clean, organized work areas and properly care for equipment

Follow all company safety rules, OSHA guidelines, and equipment protocols

Perform bending, cutting, assembling, polishing, grinding, drilling, milling, and tapping

Build jigs and assist with research and development of new products

Perform minor equipment maintenance and report issues

Operate forklifts and other shop equipment

Move materials and products to designated locations

Enter time accurately into the timekeeping system

Cross-train as needed in other production areas

Complete special projects or tasks assigned by the Manager or Director
Requirements

3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, machining, cutting, or metal fabrication
-
Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
-
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
-
Ability to use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, protractors, tape measures)

Strong math skills; able to convert fractions/decimals and perform shop math

Ability to consistently produce quality parts

Reliable, dependable, and able to follow written and verbal instructions

Comfortable using computers for basic tasks

Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Physical Requirements

Lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.

Stand, bend, twist, and work with hands for long periods (up to 8 hours)

Operate forklifts and related equipment

Work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures
Work Environment

Majority of time spent on the manufacturing floor

Exposure to cool temperatures, moderate to high noise levels, and active production machinery

Safety equipment must be worn as required
