Role Specific Responsibilities
- Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all vessel machinery on their watch, as directed by the Chief Engineer
- Ensures the preventive maintenance has been done on all machinery, outlined in the vessel maintenance schedule
- Ensures tools, equipment, parts, and supplies are inventoried, cleaned and organized
- Completes necessary paperwork (engine room logs, preventative maintenance work orders, supply orders, equipment lists, etc.)
- Maintains cleanliness of all machinery spaces
- Compliance with the Safety Management System
- Compliance with applicable regulations
- Reports unsafe conditions to your supervisor and take action to prevent accidents
- Performs additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
Licensing Requirements
- Possess, at minimum, a DDE 4000 USCG License
- Knowledge of all vessel systems; hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, diesel, propulsion, and auxiliaries
- Possess a current Passport
- Possess a current TWIC
- Skills with welding and carpentry are preferred
