Armed School Security Officer
Cardinal Point Security Group is building a team of Security Officers who will facilitate a safe learning environment and keep students, staff, and faculty safe from violence. This is a perfect opportunity for a qualified armed officer seeking extra hours each month.
Pay: $30.00 per hour
Location: Exton, PA
Schedule:
Coverage is needed Saturday 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Coverage is needed Sunday 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Fill-in hours during the week
Schedule includes regular school calendar plus occasional after-school and weekend events
This position follows the school calendar with two months off in the summer
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Be a Cardinal Point Ambassador: Be on time. Look sharp in proper uniform. Be engaged. Be consistent
- Coach and mentor students
- Incident Management and de-escalation
- Maintains orderly flow of foot traffic in the hallways
- Monitors restrooms throughout the day
- Report maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel
- Walks up to 10,000 steps per day to patrol school facilities and grounds to prevent access to restricted areas, theft, or vandalism
- Stands for up to four hours per day
- Act as First responder for emergencies
- Stands post at secondary locations as required
- Identify and report suspicious activity
- Cultivate positive relationships with staff and students
- Access Control
- Monitor CCTV
Basic Qualifications:
- Prior Law Enforcement experience is required
- Five years of experience as an armed security officer
- Three years of experience as a security officer in a school setting
- Must possess a valid PA Act 235 Certification
- Must possess a valid PA Concealed Carry Permit
- Must possess your own firearm.
- Must be able to pass firearms qualification course.
- Able to work well under pressure.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Consent to a drug screen and completing criminal background investigation.
- Consent to obtain required clearances for working in school.
- No felony or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude.
- Reliable means of communication (active cell phone with mobile email access)
- Ability to comprehend and utilize the English Language (verbal and written)
- Reliable means of transportation
- Must possess a professional and courteous demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4 years of experience as a Sworn Municipal, State, or Federal Police Officer OR Military MP, Military MA, Air Force Security Forces, OR Federal, State or Municipal Corrections Officer.
- Valid Driver’s License
