ChildNet, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit community-based care (CBC) agency servicing Broward and Palm Beach County. We are contracted with the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families, to provide case management support to abused, abandoned, and neglected children. ChildNet is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and employs over 600 staff at its location in Ft Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Florida.
Job Summary: The Supervisor of Independent Living position directs the day-to day operations of the Independent Unit to ensure established outcome measures, service and quality standards are met, exceeded and maintained.

- Hires, trains, and motivates Independent Living Unit team members under their supervision in accomplishing work objectives as assigned.
- Oversee the completion of reports regarding data from the Independent Living Unit within required timeframes.
- Maintain current knowledge of issues, trends, and developments relevant to their area of expertise in Independent Living Unit Practices to ensure compliance.
- Supervise and evaluate performance of Independent Living Unit staff members to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory standards and operational guidelines
- Identify staff performance deficiencies and provides input for training and staff development plans, e.g., certifications, knowledge, skills, and ability.
- Supports Independent Living Unit Team Members in the identification and removal of administrative obstacles that may prevent the ongoing completion of their assigned tasks.
- Ensure effective customer service skills are established and practiced by all Independent Living Unit Team Members with other ChildNet departments, clients, partner organizations and stakeholders.
- Ensures that work objectives assigned to team members are in alignment with the organization’s values and mission.
- Handles discipline and termination of Independent Living Unit staff members as needed and in accordance with company policy.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS:
Years of Experience:
- Two (2) years of experience in Human Services of Child Welfare programs
- Experience as a Case Manager preferred
Education/Licenses/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field
