Fabrication Helper
Days: Monday – Friday
Hours: 8:00 am- 4:30 pm + OT as needed
Pay: $18-$20 DOE
Job Description:
- Assist with machining operations using conventional lathes, ensuring accuracy and safe handling of materials.
- Operate bandsaws to cut metal and other materials according to specified measurements.
- Perform manual grinding, sanding, and deburring to smooth surfaces and remove imperfections.
- Support senior fabricators and machinists in setting up equipment and tools.
- Inspect and measure parts to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety and housekeeping standards.
- Assist in material handling, staging, and movement throughout the shop floor.
- Report any equipment issues, safety concerns, or material shortages to the supervisor
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Hands-on experience with conventional lathes, bandsaws, grinding, and sanding tools.
- Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings or instructions.
- Basic math skills and ability to use measuring tools (e.g., calipers, tape measure).
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Willingness to learn and take direction in a fast-paced environment.
