Paralegal (Federal Assignment – Newark, NJ)
DiverseGOV, a division of Diverse Staffing Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Paralegal to support a fully funded contract with the Department of Justice through September 28, 2026. This position offers a front-row seat to impactful federal litigation, supporting Assistant U.S. Attorneys with research, case organization, and trial preparation.
As a DiverseGOV employee assigned on this contract you will be eligible for Bonafide Benefits of the Service Contract Act (SCA) including health and welfare compensation, sick and paid time off after 1 year, and 11 paid federal holidays. This position will primarily assist on civil cases but could at times require support for criminal cases.
What You’ll Do
- Organize case files, discovery, and exhibits.
- Conduct document review and legal research.
- Draft pleadings and prepare summaries for AUSAs.
- Support witness preparation and courtroom logistics.
- Maintain calendars, coordinate travel, and ensure compliance with DOJ procedures.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate (required).
- Experience in litigation, civil rights, or government law (preferred).
- Proficiency with MS Office, Adobe Acrobat is required.
- Current or eligibility for DOJ security clearance.
- Experience with Relativity, iPro Eclipse, Everlaw, CaseMap, TimeMap, Trial Director, Beyond Compare, USAfx (cloud storage interface), and SecureZip is preferred
