Duties include:
- Perform analyses and interpret the results of physical, chemical, biological and bacteriological tests of water, wastewater, industrial waste, hazardous waste, and other materials relating to treatment, quality and distribution of potable water.
- Conduct analyses of potable water with regard to District, State and Federal regulatory requirements.
- File mandated reports.
- Set up, calibrate, operate and perform minor maintenance on standard and specialized laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Enter and validate data into a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Candidates are required to have three years of responsible laboratory experience performing analysis of water/wastewater samples.
- Must possess equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in chemistry, microbiology or other laboratory science, including successful completion of two or more courses in analytical and physical chemistry or a related field.
The hiring range for this position is $30.00 to $35.00 per hour. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity, and may also vary depending on candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience amongst other factors.
