Overview

The Senior Director of Outcomes Research will lead the design, execution, and interpretation of structured expert consensus studies to support client decision-making in health economics, outcomes research, and market access. This role focuses on structured expert consensus methods (Delphi panels, expert elicitation) as well as complementary primary data approaches such as targeted and systematic literature reviews, retrospective chart reviews, registry analyses, and survey-based research. The individual will deliver credible, decision-ready evidence that informs pricing, reimbursement, and clinical positioning across the life sciences sector.

As a senior member of the SAVEs Team, this individual combines methodological rigor with client leadership, helping life sciences clients generate credible, actionable evidence where data gaps exist. This position reports to the Head of Strategic Analytics, Value & Economics.

Key Responsibilities include:

Scientific & Project Leadership

· Serve as Principal Investigator (P.I.) for multiple Delphi and mixed-method studies.

· Independently develop and refine study methodologies based on client goals and research objectives.

· Lead and oversee all writing tasks, direct others in execution, and ensure scientific rigor across deliverables.

· Review and guide project work for consistency, accuracy, and quality.

· Lead client calls, present findings, and build trusted advisory relationships.

Study Design & Execution

· Design and oversee Delphi studies (classical, modified, or hybrid formats) to elicit expert input on clinical practice, cost parameters, disease burden, or model assumptions.

· Develop protocols, questionnaires, analysis plans, and consensus definitions.

· Manage iterative survey rounds, synthesize feedback, and determine convergence or remaining uncertainty.

· Integrate Delphi findings into HEOR deliverables such as cost-effectiveness models, value dossiers, or evidence synthesis reports.

Expert Engagement & Facilitation

· Identify, recruit, and engage key opinion leaders (KOLs), clinicians, and payer experts across geographies and therapeutic areas.

· Manage expert contracting, compliance, and communication throughout the study lifecycle.

· Facilitate virtual or in-person consensus workshops or advisory panels.

· Ensure objectivity, transparency, and ethical integrity in all expert interactions.

Analysis, Reporting & Dissemination

· Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses of expert responses to assess consensus metrics.

· Develop clear, visually compelling reports and presentations for client and publication use.

· Contribute to peer-reviewed manuscripts, HTA submissions, and conference presentations.

· Summarize findings into actionable insights that directly inform client strategy.

· Mentor junior team members on Delphi methodology, survey design, and stakeholder engagement.

· Establish best-practice templates, SOPs, and training resources for consensus research.

· Collaborate with HEOR, RWE, modeling, and value communication teams to ensure alignment across service offerings.

Requirements:

Qualifications

· Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MPH, MS, or equivalent) in health economics, public health, epidemiology, psychology, or related field.

· 7+ years of experience in outcomes research or HEOR, with at least 3 years leading Delphi or expert elicitation studies.

· Expertise in consensus methods, survey design, and applied statistics (e.g., R, SPSS, Excel).

· Proven ability to translate technical findings into strategic insights for non-technical audiences.

· Demonstrated success in project management, proposal development, and publication.

· Experience integrating Delphi results into cost-effectiveness models or value frameworks.

· Familiarity with payer evidence needs, HTA processes, and global value communication.

· Prior work with biopharma or medical device clients across multiple therapeutic areas.
