Job Title: Personal Care Assistant (PCA) – School Setting
Location: Chantilly, VA
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:45 AM – 3:45 PM
Duration: 44 Weeks
Pay Rate: $24.00/hour
Job Summary
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a compassionate and dependable Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide one-on-one or small-group support to students with physical, medical, behavioral, and developmental needs within a school environment. The PCA plays a vital role in ensuring student safety, promoting independence, and supporting meaningful participation in academic and school-related activities.
Key Responsibilities

Provide assistance with daily living activities, including mobility, toileting, hygiene, and feeding, in accordance with individualized care plans

Support students during instructional activities by encouraging participation, engagement, and appropriate behavior

Accompany students throughout the school day, including classrooms, hallways, lunchroom, playground, and transportation as required

Monitor and observe student behavior, physical condition, and overall well-being; promptly report concerns to appropriate school staff

Assist with adaptive equipment, positioning, and mobility devices while following safe handling procedures

Implement accommodations and reinforcement strategies under the direction of teachers and related service providers

Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive learning environment in compliance with school safety guidelines

Collaborate with teachers, nurses, therapists, and families to support IEP goals and student development

Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all school policies, privacy standards, and documentation requirements
Required Qualifications
-
High school diploma or GED
-
Previous experience working with children, individuals with disabilities, or in caregiving roles preferred

Ability to assist with lifting, transfers, and student mobility as needed

Basic understanding of personal care, hygiene support, and safety practices
-
Strong communication skills, patience, and professionalism

Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience in a school, daycare, special education, or healthcare setting
-
CPI or behavioral support training (or willingness to obtain)

First Aid and CPR certification preferred
