Job Summary & Description:
Empowered Services is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team.In this role, you will build meaningful relationships that inspire confidence, promote independence, and support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living fulfilling, joyful lives.
As a DSP, you will work one-on-one with each customer to understand their unique needs, support them in achieving their goals, and provide care in a positive, encouraging, and safe environment. Our DSPs serve not only as caregivers but also as mentors, advocates, and trusted companions for the individuals we support.
Customer 1
351: We are seeking a highly involved and compassionate Direct Support Professional to support a sweet-natured customer who enjoys shopping, community outings, and doing crafts at home. This individual takes time to warm up but is friendly and engaging once they feel comfortable, so patience and relationship-building are essential. The ideal provider will remain attentive throughout the day, consistently looking for physical signs or changes in mood and alertness that may indicate a medical concern. Strong de-escalation skills are required, as the provider must be able to safely and calmly manage occasional physical aggression. Customer 2
053: We are seeking a dedicated and supportive Direct Support Professional to work with a customer who absolutely loves animalsespecially dogsand even carries treats in their pocket for any furry friend they meet. This customer enjoys community outings such as farmers markets, bowling, and other social activities, and they also need assistance finding and maintaining a job. The ideal provider will have strong experience in maintaining firm but respectful boundaries and will be able to help the customer process information when challenges or unexpected situations arise. This role requires someone who is comfortable transporting the customer around the community, accompanying them to church on Sundays, and assisting with budgeting and money management. If you are patient, engaged, and committed to helping someone thrive in both their daily life and long-term goals, this position could be a wonderful fit.
Schedule: Thursday 2 pm to 6 pm, Friday & Saturday (3 to 4 hours - flexible), and Sunday 7:00 am to 12:00 or 1:00 pm.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience with the I/DD community is preferred but not required.
- Must pass a background check. - *Not all charges will warrant a disqualification.
- Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid drivers license, with a good driving record.
- Musthave your own reliable vehicle, with full coverage auto insurance.
- Must be comfortable providing respectful support with personal care, including bathroom and hygiene.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting pay ranges from $23$25 per hour, depending on a variety of factors, including experience, certifications, and skills.

- Empower Customers to Reach Goals Encourage and guide customers in achieving their personal goals, tracking progress, and sharing insights with their County Coordinator.
- Encourage Growth and Exploration Foster skill development, hobbies, interests, and community engagement, helping customers build confidence and independence.
- Build Meaningful Connections Develop genuine relationships, creating a sense of belonging and helping customers recognize their value and voice in the community.
- Communicate Proactively Keep in touch with County Coordinators and report updates or concerns promptly, ensuring smooth and supportive care.
