Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Sales
- Greet and engage customers with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Walk customers to products and offer detailed product guidance.
- Assist customers in selecting gear that fits their lifestyle and needs.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations based on customer experience and safety needs.
Firearm Sales & Compliance
- Follow all firearm sales procedures and ATF regulations with precision.
- Complete 4473 forms accurately and ensure all documentation is secure.
- Verify identification and eligibility requirements for all regulated purchases.
- Participate in regular firearms compliance training and testing.
- Maintain accurate physical and electronic records, ensuring full compliance with bound book requirements.
Merchandising & Stocking
- Keep shelves stocked, clean, and well-presented.
- Ensure signage and pricing are current and accurate.
- Assist in building seasonal displays and end caps.
- Communicate low stock or reorder needs to Buyers.
Product Knowledge & Training
- Stay up to date on firearms, ammunition, and gear specifications and uses.
- Participate in vendor and store-led product training.
- Compare features, uses, and value across categories to assist customers effectively.
- Build customer confidence by providing accurate, knowledgeable recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Previous retail or sporting goods experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of firearm safety, ATF regulations, and compliance procedures.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Professional, courteous, and safety-conscious demeanor.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and move throughout the department during shifts.
- Availability for weekends, evenings, and promotional events.
