OurCommunity Engagement Programhelps individuals build life skills, connect with others, and enjoy meaningful community experiences. We're looking for compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to help bring that mission to life.
Position Overview
As a DSP in our Community Engagement Program, you'll support individuals in accessing and participating in a variety of community-based activitiessuch as volunteering, attending events, exploring local attractions, and more. Youll play a key role in fostering independence, building social connections, and promoting personal growth.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support to individuals during community outings and activities
- Assist with transportation to and from events or programs
- Promote independence and self-advocacy through skill-building and mentoring
- Foster inclusive, respectful, and empowering interactions
- Document daily progress, observations, and incidents accurately and timely
- Collaborate with program coordinators, families, and other support staff
- Ensure the health, safety, and dignity of all participants at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; some college or relevant training preferred
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or in a human services role is a plus
- Clean and valid drivers license (3 years) and reliable transportation required
- Ability to work the day shift Monday through Friday
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact
