Industrial Maintenance Technician – PAID WEEKLY!
Location: Des Moines, IA
Pay: $25–$35/hour (based on relevant experience)
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team in Des Moines, IA! This role is responsible for performing routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on production machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills to help minimize downtime and keep operations running safely and efficiently.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair equipment: Quickly identify and fix mechanical issues on machines such as printing presses, cutters, folders, and conveyors.
- Preventative maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and assist operators with proactive maintenance and part replacements.
- Troubleshooting: Use knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC, and pneumatics to resolve mechanical problems.
- Blueprint interpretation: Read and follow blueprints, sketches, and manuals to plan and execute repairs.
- Fabrication: Operate metalworking tools (e.g., drill presses, grinders) to fabricate or repair parts.
- Electrical work: Perform electrical repairs, including replacing wiring, switches, and relays (as qualified).
- Inventory & vendor coordination: Manage parts inventory and coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs.
- Safety compliance: Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety guidelines at all times.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Technical certificate (1-year) or 3–5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Communication: Ability to give clear technical direction and work collaboratively across teams.
- Problem-solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Technical aptitude: Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Organization: Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent pushing, pulling, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and bending.
- Manual dexterity and good vision required.
- Must be comfortable working around production equipment.
