Title: Applications and Data Engineering Projects Lead
Location: Hybrid – Phoenix, AZ
Job Type: Full-time | Exempt
This hands-on technical leadership role focuses on overseeing enterprise applications, data architecture, and automation solutions. The position requires a seasoned project leader with strong architecture and technical expertise to manage EMR systems, Microsoft Azure-based data environments, and business intelligence platforms. This role supports critical healthcare IT functions while working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure delivery and alignment with business needs.
Your role:
- Lead technical design, development, testing, and support of data warehouses, data pipelines, BI reports, APIs, and automation within Microsoft Azure and M365 environments.
- Supervise and support administration of EMR systems, Microsoft 365 apps, and other SaaS tools across the organization.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and recommend solutions that align with clinical and operational goals.
- Manage timelines, deliverables, and project documentation using Agile or hybrid methods.
- Coordinate change management, deployments, testing, and system monitoring for applications and data infrastructure.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers and technical staff.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues involving data and application systems.
What you’ve got:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in technical project management, data architecture, systems engineering, or software delivery.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical projects and deliver enterprise-level solutions.
- Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and change management best practices.
- Strong communication skills to bridge business needs with technical execution.
- Expertise in EMR systems and SaaS application administration.
- Proficient in data systems and tools including SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Data Lake, Power BI, Power Automate, Logic Apps, and Azure DevOps.
- Skilled in API integration, containerization, and application monitoring using Azure tools.
- Experience with Python, PowerShell, LLMs, AI/ML libraries, identity management, and cybersecurity principles.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Azure Entra, and Azure Databricks.
- Preferred: Certifications in Azure, Power Platform, or PMP; experience in healthcare IT, especially behavioral health or substance use treatment systems; knowledge of HIPAA compliance and data privacy regulations.
