Criminal Defense Attorney – An Exciting Career Opportunity!
Aspen Careers is partnering with a well-established growing criminal defense firm in Gilbert, AZ to find an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney who's ready to take ownership of their cases, lead strategy, and deliver outstanding client results. This is more than a case management role — it's your opportunity to run your docket, advocate fiercely, and be backed by a well-structured support team.
What You'll Do:
- Represent clients in misdemeanor cases, with a desire to take on felony matters, from intake through resolution
- Analyze evidence (e.g., police reports, blood/breath tests, procedures) and develop defense strategies
- Directly support staff and legal assistants to keep cases on track
- Lead hearings, trials, and negotiations
- Prepare motions, client advisories, and legal filings
- Maintain regular client updates and timely documentation
- Track billable time and manage matters within budget
The Ideal Candidate Profile:
- JD and active license to practice in Arizona
- 2-3 years of criminal defense or courtroom experience
- Strong research, negotiation, and trial prep skills
- Highly organized, tech-savvy, and client-oriented
- Leadership presence with a proactive, solutions-first mindset
- Ability to meet 1500 Billable hours per year
