Position Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in advancing our mission by providing compassionate, hands-on support to individuals with intellectual, developmental, physical, and mental disabilities. DSPs empower participants to build independence, develop skills, and engage meaningfully in their community through daily activities, work skills training, community coaching, and personal support.
We are currently seeking two (2) full-time Direct Support Professionals to work Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, as well as two (2) PRN Direct Support Professionals to provide coverage on an as-needed basis.
Compensation
- Pay Rate: $12.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver purposeful, age-appropriate activities that promote independence, engagement, and personal growth
- Implement training techniques and interventions to support social skills, personal hygiene, motor coordination, and daily living skills
- Provide personal care and hygiene assistance in a respectful, person-centered manner
- Supervise and support participants during all program activities, including providing coverage when additional assistance is needed
- Encourage individuals to actively or partially participate in daily routines and program activities
- Accompany participants on group outings, community activities, and work-based experiences
- Transport participants using agency vehicles as required and serve as a backup van driver
- Maintain program equipment and supply inventory and notify supervisors when reordering is needed
- Complete accurate and timely documentation for assigned individuals by the end of each shift
- Identify program challenges and recommend solutions that support quality services and positive outcomes
- Attend required trainings and staff meetings to support professional growth and program excellence
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support program objectives, participant safety, and team success
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Valid Driver’s License (required if operating agency vehicles)
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain and maintain certification
- NCI certification, or willingness to obtain and maintain certification
- Ability to pass criminal background and social services background checks
