Creditors' Rights Attorney - Mount Laurel, NJ or NY Remote

A regional law firm with a strong creditors' rights and financial services practice is seeking an experienced Creditors' Rights Attorney to join its Mount Laurel office. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in residential mortgage foreclosure, loss mitigation, and related creditors' rights litigation. This is an excellent opportunity to step into an established workflow and work closely with institutional clients, loan servicers, and financial institutions.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the New Jersey Bar or New York Bar
  • 2+ years of experience in creditors' rights, specifically residential mortgage foreclosure
  • Familiarity with foreclosure processes, loss mitigation, eviction actions, and bankruptcy considerations
  • Strong understanding of state and federal mortgage servicing regulations
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage high-volume files while maintaining accuracy and compliance
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with institutional clients

Responsibilities

  • Represent creditors, loan servicers, and financial institutions in residential mortgage foreclosure matters
  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, certifications, and other foreclosure-related documents
  • Handle court appearances, settlement conferences, and motion hearings
  • Oversee case files from referral through resolution, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and investor requirements
  • Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and internal teams to move files efficiently
  • Provide counsel on foreclosure timelines, loss mitigation options, and risk management
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for client and internal use
