Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in felony and misdemeanor jury trials from arraignment through verdict.
- Draft motions, negotiate settlements, and advocate at hearings and sentencing.
- Develop and implement defense strategies across a variety of criminal charges.
- Communicate with clients empathetically, guiding them through high-stakes situations.
- Collaborate with legal support staff to ensure seamless case management from intake to resolution.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license to practice in Iowa (or eligibility to obtain promptly).
- Minimum 5+ years of criminal defense experience, including jury trials through verdict.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage files and cases independently.
- Skilled oral advocate with polished courtroom presence.
