Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An educational position is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf/Hard of Hearing students and a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) within a K-12 school setting. This contract role is based in Baltimore, MD, and will span the entire school year.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Certified Teacher with expertise in educating Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Valid COTA certification with experience in school environments
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and specialized instructional strategies
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience working with K-12 students
Location:
- Baltimore, Maryland
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and therapy services to support the academic and developmental needs of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching and therapy strategies accordingly
- Work closely with classroom teachers, speech therapists, and other specialists to foster a supportive learning environment
- Assist in developing and implementing therapy plans aimed at improving student functional abilities
- Maintain accurate documentation and communication with parents and school staff
