Caregiver Responsibilities
Caregivers at Charis Hearts provide non-medical in-home and/or community care based on the Client Service Plan. Responsibilities may include:
- Client Support & Care
Perform client wellness checks to ensure their well-being.- Assist clients with completing admission documents as needed.
- Help train other caregivers on Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) in the client's home.
- Provide non-medical support to agency service recipients.
- Compliance & Documentation
Be familiar with and follow all rules, policies, and procedures related to service delivery.- Submit all required documentation accurately and on time.
- Adhere to the individual service plan for each recipient.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all client records and information unless authorized by written consent.
- Safety & Reporting
Immediately report any incidents of injury involving the service recipient or yourself to your supervisor.- Report any suspected abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities and your supervisor.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have valid State ID/ Drivers License.
- Strong communication skills – both oral and written.
- Reliable transportation to and from client locations.
- Compassionate and caring nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Honesty and integrity in all interactions.
- Willingness to attend training sessions provided by referring agencies and/or the Tennessee Department of Mental Health & Developmental Disabilities (MHDD).
