Job DescriptionDescriptionFS-Elliott is expanding our Field Service team! We're seeking a skilled Service Controls Engineer to support equipment installations, start-ups, commissioning, and troubleshooting of PLC and digital control systems. In this customer-facing role, you’ll work closely with Channel Partners and Customers to resolve field equipment issues and ensure optimal performance.
This is a hands-on role where technical expertise, a problem-solving mindset, and a strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction are essential.
Responsibilities
- Visit customer sites and installations to perform start-up assistance and troubleshooting of control systems, obtaining first-hand information to diagnose and resolve issues.
- (Travel requirement: up to 75% of the time)
- Investigate, develop, present, and implement corrective actions to resolve system and/or process-related problems.
- Provide technical support to Channel Partners and Customers for the resolution of issues related to control systems.
- Complete work order forms and other required documentation accurately and promptly on a daily basis.
- Generate detailed reports on equipment performance and issues, providing feedback to internal departments for continuous improvement.
- Conduct training programs for Customers and Channel Partners on equipment operation, maintenance, and controls.
- Propose ideas for improving the reliability, cost-effectiveness, serviceability, and marketability of FS-Elliott equipment.
Skills Knowledge and ExperienceEducation:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) in an Engineering discipline or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

- Broad understanding of safety, health, and environmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Willingness to travel extensively (up to 75%) and work outside of standard business hours when necessary (with appropriate notice).
- Ability to obtain and maintain Unescorted Site Access, including passing a drug screening process.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications.
- Experience with ERP systems (preferred).
- Familiarity with relevant hardware and software systems related to industrial control systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to actively listen and convey technical information clearly and effectively.
