- Hours: 11:00am to 2:15pm (12 hours/week total)
- Part-time only – no additional hours currently available
Gifted Potentials is seeking a reliable, calm, and encouraging Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a part-time Community Participation Support (CPS) case in Media, PA.
This position supports a shy adult male with developmental disabilities in building confidence, exploring employment interests, and participating meaningfully in the community. Services focus on empowerment, structure, and engagement in a safe and person-centered way.
Local candidates preferred – ideally those living in Media or surrounding areas for reliable and consistent support.
Male DSPs age 28+ strongly preferred due to the participant’s care and communication preferences.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 CPS support in the community
- Promote independence in grooming, hygiene, and social interaction
- Accompany and assist with community outings (e.g., stores, parks, public spaces)
- Support employment goals in collaboration with a Job Coach (OVR)
- Use visual prompts and clear communication strategies
- Reinforce budgeting and money-handling skills
- Encourage decision-making, advocacy, and confidence
- Maintain participant dignity, safety, and inclusion
- Apply trauma-informed and person-centered practices
- Submit accurate, timely service documentation
- Coordinate consistently with supervisors and the care team
✅ Requirements
- Availability for the full 12-hour weekly schedule
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Prior experience as a DSP, CNA, or in direct care preferred
- Experience supporting individuals with communication needs or learning differences
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm, clear, and supportive
- Knowledge of HCBS standards, person-centered planning, and HIPAA compliance
