Bring your craft to a shop where precision matters. As a Precision Mold Tooling Specialist, you will machine, fit, assemble, and finish components to build and repair molds, ensuring reliable performance on the floor and repeatable quality at the press.
Reporting Structure
This role has no direct reports.
A Day in the Shop
Your day starts at the bench, carefully spotting aluminum and steel prototype and production molds. You confidently disassemble and reassemble tooling with minimal supervision, following tool designs and accepted procedures. You’ll build and repair injection molds, verify dimensional accuracy through quality checks, and make smart, timely adjustments to improve the tool. Preventative maintenance, repairs, and modifications are all part of keeping our molds production-ready.
Core Responsibilities
- Bench and spot aluminum and steel prototype and production molds.
- Independently disassemble and reassemble molds.
- Assemble molds to print using established tooling practices.
- Build and repair injection molds per the mold design and standards.
- Perform quality checks in accordance with company procedures.
- Implement changes to tooling when required.
- Execute preventative maintenance, repairs, and modifications on injection molds.
What You Bring
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting ability.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpretation, including GD&T.
- Capability to perform calculations and conduct moderate analysis.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required. At least 2 years of hands-on experience operating Bridgeports, lathes, radial drills, and surface grinders. Experience with hand tools is preferred.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Regular activities include walking, sitting, climbing, bending, stooping, grasping, crouching, pushing, balancing, reaching, kneeling, and standing.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
