Summary
This position is primarily responsible for the electrical R&D lab soldering, rework, and testing related to new and existing Electromechanical medical devices. This position will be required to understand, set-up, perform and monitor electronic testing activities with minimal guidance.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- This position will be the primary soldering and rework expert for the electrical lab. The candidate must have extensive experience hand-soldering SMT components as small as 0201 and 0.5mm pitch packages as well as BGA with hot air and outer layer modifications and repair of printed circuit board wiring.
- Will execute electrical test procedures at the system and board levels using a variety of test equipment including but not limited to DMMs, DC power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and scales.
- Will monitor automated testing and report on status with limited data analysis and interpretation.
- Goal to expand the position to include test case writing depending on the candidate.
- Work with other lab staff and engineers to keep the lab organized and maintained.
- Will take direction from engineering manager, lab supervisor and Test Engineers on safe working procedures, use of equipment, recording of test data, and monitoring of results.
- Experience with Altium or other PCBA layout tool (viewing not creating) to identify physical connections and component placement for rework is a plus.
REQUIREMENTS
- Fine pitch surface mount soldering, reflow, and rework expertise
- Experience using electrical test equipment and executing tests
- Strengths in organization, recordkeeping, and MS Excel are desired.
- Have verbal, writing and organizational skills to maintain all records and provide data to project engineers, managers and support problem resolution.
Education & Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent, BS Degree is preferred
- 3+ yrs of experience soldering with 1+ yrs of electronics testing
- Basic computer skills
