About the Role
DigiLens, the world leader in transparent Augmented Reality Display, located in Silicon Valley, California, is looking for an experienced Chemical Laboratory Assistant/Technician. You will work with a team of chemists and engineers to develop nano-material formulations, and with the materials, optical, and process engineering teams to create novel XR Waveguide displays.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Handle chemicals, additives, and highly light-sensitive materials safely.
- Formulate and test holographic photopolymers composed of nanoparticles and liquid crystals.
- Prepare material qualification and production reports for internal and external customers.
- Calibrate and maintain instruments for material mixing and testing.
- Assist Hazmat waste disposal management by transferring chemicals and containers.
- Must be comfortable in assisting hazmat waste disposal management by transferring chemicals & containers.
- Additional responsibilities, as assigned.
Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Up to two years’ experience working with chemicals or in labs. An associate’s degree in chemistry or a related field may be considered in lieu of experience.
- Understanding of formulations and material processing techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Team player with “whatever it takes” approach.
- Demonstrated the ability to follow work instructions.
- Must be comfortable working with reactive materials in mixing chambers or glove boxes and in red-light (or controlled lighting) lab work environments.
- Prior experience using various computer programs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
