Job DescriptionA day on the road, a difference in the OR

You start the week with a travel plan set 1–3 weeks in advance. Sometimes you’re behind the wheel of a company vehicle; other times you’re boarding a flight. By mid‑morning, you’re on site at a hospital, reviewing proposals, port maps, wiring diagrams, and infrastructure drawings with an Integration Specialist I/II or an Integration Project Manager. The mission is clear: integrate the operating room so clinicians can focus on patient care.

What you’ll tackle

  • Terminate and interconnect cabling, then configure software to bring the system online.
  • Use test documentation to validate every function and confirm final configuration with hospital network teams.
  • Provide concise verbal and written progress updates to the installation lead or project manager.
  • Handle essential admin tasks promptly, including checklists, Siebel entry, expense reports, and timekeeping.
  • Represent STERIS with courtesy and professionalism; follow all customer entry/exit protocols and adhere to STERIS and customer Health & Safety procedures.

Travel and schedule

Expect extensive travel that can include day trips, overnights, and week‑long assignments. Hours flex with customer needs; overtime is common but not guaranteed.

Who succeeds here

  • High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years installing cable/audio‑visual/electronics; or an Associate’s in Electronics (or related) plus 1+ year of relevant experience.
  • Hands‑on troubleshooting strengths across PCs, video technologies, video cabling, and networking; strong Windows proficiency.
  • Clear communicator—written and verbal—with the ability to manage shifting priorities.
  • Willing and able to travel extensively and work outside standard business hours as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Preferred: Project management background; Biomed or Hospital IT exposure.
