Job Title: Legal Assistant
Location: Teaneck, NJ (On-Site Position)
Schedule: 30–40 hours per week
Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience; includes 401(k)

About Us

The Samuel Law Firm is a busy law practice located in Teaneck, NJ. We focus on delivering high-quality legal services with personal attention to our clients. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team and support attorneys and paralegals in day-to-day operations. This position is in-office only (not remote).

Responsibilities

  • Perform general administrative tasks including scanning, filing, and organizing documents.

  • Support the paralegal with case preparation and workflow management.

  • Prepare and file legal documents using ECF (federal court system) and NYSCEF (New York State Courts Electronic Filing).

  • Draft and format basic legal documents and correspondence.

  • Maintain case files (electronic and paper) in an orderly and up-to-date manner.

  • Assist with office management duties as needed.

  • Conduct light client contact, including scheduling, providing updates, and answering routine inquiries.

  • Handle other clerical and legal support tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a law firm or legal setting preferred, but not required.

  • Familiarity with ECF and NYSCEF filing systems strongly preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).

  • Professional communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Team player with a positive attitude.
