Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education teaching role is available in Minneapolis, MN, focused on serving Native/Indigenous student populations, specifically Ojibwe and Lakota students. This contract position spans the full academic year, with a tentative caseload of approximately 15-18 students across kindergarten through 8th grade.
Responsibilities include developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), adapting instructional methods to meet students' needs, and collaborating with families and school staff to support student success. The position requires a mitment to culturally responsive teaching practices and an understanding of the unique needs of Native populations.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota Teaching License with Special Education or Academic Behavior Strategist endorsement
- Minimum of 2 years recent teaching experience in special education
- Experience working with diverse student populations is preferred
- Ability to create inclusive learning environments tailored to individual student goals
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM
