GENERAL SUMMARY
To ensure the production department has met their goals of performance, both to the plant and the customer by providing them with dependable and consistent running tools on time and on a regular basis. Meet schedule requirements in the tool room to ensure tools are production ready per the schedule.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Physically work on tooling, tooling related problems and assist toolmakers in daily troubleshooting within the tool room and in the press shop to ensure tools are operating at peak efficiency.
- Communicate troubleshooting/die maintenance responsibilities in a clear and concise manner.
- Make quality and tooling related decisions for long term solutions.
- Consistently address problems and make/implement solutions to improve efficiencies processes and report all necessary quality, production, or safety problems to the Tooling Manager.
- Ensure that production tooling and related equipment is ready to meet customer requirements.
- Work with production to ensure quality parts.
- Be positive and enthusiastic.
- Ensure regular improvement of measurable goals such as reduced tooling downtime, improved first hit performance, reduced tooling costs, etc.
- Find ways to improve processes to eliminate wasted time, cost, and motion.
- Demonstrate teamwork.
- Other duties as assigned by the Tooling Manager.

- Oversee and ensure tool room cleanliness.
- Follow all safety rules.
- Follow the lockout/tagout procedures.
