We are seeking an experienced Paralegal or Legal Assistant to provide long-term contract support to an in-house counsel team. The role includes assisting with internal investigations, managing litigation matters, and organizing records, documents, and confidential materials with exceptional attention to detail. Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion are key components of this position.
This is a hybrid role requiring one day per week onsite, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work closely with a corporate legal team. Responsibilities:
• Assist attorneys in conducting sensitive internal investigations while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Perform legal research and analyze case law to provide informed support during investigations.
• Organize, label, and maintain detailed records of discussions, meetings, and documents for efficient case management.
• Review and understand contracts, focusing on key terms and subject matter to aid legal processes.
• Create and manage categorized files to ensure proper organization and accessibility of privileged information.
• Utilize tools like LexisNexis, Adobe Acrobat, and case management software to streamline legal workflows.
• Manage calendars and schedules to ensure timely follow-ups and case progression.
• Handle complaints and inquiries related to legal matters with professionalism and accuracy.
• Support fast-moving events by keeping all documentation and processes updated and organized.
• Proven experience working in a legal environment with exposure to privileged information.
• Proficiency in legal research and familiarity with analyzing case law and contracts.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain detailed records and files.
• Familiarity with tools such as Adobe Acrobat, LexisNexis, and case management software.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data tracking and reporting.
• Ability to manage calendars and schedules efficiently with a focus on detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills for handling sensitive matters and coordinating with attorneys.
