Job Description
Position Title: Engineering Technician III
Location: Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD), Philadelphia, PA
Clearance Requirement: Department of Defense Secret Clearance (Active)
Work Schedule: Forty hour work week schedule with some overtime allowed. Approximately 95% on-site at NSWCPD; up to 5% travel as required.
Contingency: This position is contingent upon contract award
NSWCPD is seeking an Engineering Technician III to provide critical support to the Compatibility Test Facility (CTF) Business Operations. The position requires a highly skilled technician capable of assisting with multiple facets of engineering operations, ensuring that program objectives and milestones are effectively met.
Key Responsibilities:
The Engineering Technician III will perform a range of duties in support of NSWCPD’s CTF Business Operations, including but not limited to:
• Provide technical and programmatic support to Navy Hull, Machinery, and Electrical (HM&E) systems and equipment.
• Assist with processing, documentation, and records management to support operational, supply, and project programs.
• Support financial management and analysis functions related to program execution.
• Assist with quality management, ensuring compliance with established standards and procedures.
• Support logistics functions, including inventory tracking, material handling, and coordination with supply programs.
• Contribute to manpower, personnel, and training (MP&T) activities.
• Participate in planned maintenance, continuous improvement, and configuration management tasks.
• Compile and report key metrics to support program monitoring and decision-making.
Required Qualifications:
• Education: High School Diploma, GED equivalent, trade/industrial school graduate, or related military experience.
• Experience: Minimum of five (5) years as an engineering technician supporting Navy HM&E systems/equipment. At least two (2) years must include experience with logistics documentation supporting supply programs or projects. Experience may be gained concurrently.
