Dental Equipment Repair Technician
Location: Houston, TX
Pay Rate: $33/hr
Shift: Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM
Dean's Professional Services is actively seeking a Dental Equipment Repair Technician. This role is responsible for performing high-quality, manufacturer-approved repairs on dental equipment, ensuring safety, reliability, and minimal disruption to clinical operations within a respected School of Dentistry setting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, adherence to safety standards, and excellent documentation practices.
Responsibilities:
Repair Standards
- Perform repairs using correct and manufacturer-approved parts.
- Ensure replacement components match original specifications or approved equivalents.
- Complete repairs that meet or exceed OEM quality standards.
- Follow industry best practices to ensure safety, reliability, and longevity of equipment.
Safety & Compliance
- Perform all repair work in accordance with dental clinic safety standards and infection control protocols.
- Adhere to School of Dentistry policies regarding safety, patient privacy, and proper equipment handling.
- Use required PPE in line with regulatory and institutional guidelines.
- Conduct repairs in a manner that minimizes disruption to clinical operations.
- Maintain a professional appearance, proper attire, and required identification while on-site.
- Follow personal hygiene and professionalism standards to ensure a safe, respectful environment.
Documentation & Reporting
- Complete full repair documentation, including:
- Issue description
- Corrective actions taken
- Enter all documentation into the School of Dentistry's Service Call database.
- Complete all IT compliance training required for system access.
- Ensure all documentation is submitted the same day before leaving the facility.
Qualifications:
- Experience in dental equipment repair, medical equipment repair, or comparable technical/mechanical service role (required).
- Ability to read equipment manuals, follow OEM guidelines, and perform precise mechanical/electrical repairs.
- Working knowledge of safety protocols, infection control, and proper equipment handling.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to complete accurate documentation.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills when interacting with students, faculty, and staff.
