Job Description: Funeral Attendant
The Funeral Attendant plays a crucial role in supporting funeral and memorial services. Responsibilities include setting up for viewings, assisting with services, transferring remains from the place of death to the funeral home, and performing various tasks as assigned by management.
Overview & Responsibilities:
- Assistance During Services: Collaborate with the funeral director to ensure that funerals and visitations run smoothly, providing necessary support.
- Welcoming Atmosphere: Maintain a friendly demeanor while offering assistance and guidance to all visitors at the location.
- Movement of Deceased: Assist in the careful transportation of casketed remains and related items in and out of the visitation area, funeral home chapel, church, or other service venues.
- Driving Duties: Operate the hearse, family limousine, or other vehicles during funeral processions and related activities.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Compassionate Service: Demonstrate empathy and a commitment to providing excellent service to families and individuals during difficult times.
- Availability: Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and be on-call as needed.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with a high level of compassion and integrity.
- Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented with a positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset.
- Physical Capability: Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs.
- Valid Driver’s License: Must possess a state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record.
