Sterling Engineering is seeking a highly motivated Revit MEP Design Expert to join our consulting engineering team. This mid-level role is critical for leveraging advanced Building Information Modeling (BIM) to design and detail complex commercial, industrial, and institutional building systems throughout the greater New England, Northeast and Mid Atlantic regions.
Key Responsibilities and Focus Areas
- BIM Mastery & Detailing: Serve as the primary specialist for creating, modifying, and managing detailed construction drawings using REVIT (BIM). This includes high-level system design and detailing for HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection.
- Specialized Systems Design: Design and detail complex systems with a strong focus on specialized areas such as Process Piping, Process Exhaust, and utility systems for semiconductor, research, healthcare, and industrial clients.
- Software Execution: Maintain expert proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD to deliver accurate, high-quality deliverables efficiently and independently.
- Onsite Support: Assist engineering staff by conducting thorough system surveys in active construction zones, mechanical rooms, rooftops, and mezzanines to inform and verify model accuracy.
- Engineering Collaboration: Provide specialized technical and design support to engineering staff as required.
✅ Required Qualifications
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of direct experience in consulting engineering or a construction environment, with a focus on specialized building systems design.
- Software Proficiency: Demonstrated Expert-level expertise and current proficiency in REVIT MEP and AutoCAD.
- Work Style: Proven ability to work independently and efficiently in a deadline-driven environment with minimal daily supervision. Self-motivation and critical thinking skills are key.
- Mobility: Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with a willingness to drive/ fly to client sites across the greater New England/Northeast/ Mid Atlantic regions. Must be capable of ladders and conducting work on open rooftops.
- Screening: Ability to pass a background check as may be required by clients.
- Skills: Strong foundational skills in math, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a consulting engineering firm focused on specialized systems like Process Piping, Process Exhaust, or Lab Utilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear coordination with team members and engineers.
