Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school district in Des Plaines, IL is seeking a dedicated full-time Special Education Teacher for middle school students, grades 5-8, for the upcoming school year. This contract position offers an excellent opportunity to work onsite in a supportive educational environment from July 28, 2025.
Key Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist 1) certification
- Prior experience teaching middle school students
- Availability to work onsite throughout the contract duration
- Ability to collaborate with school staff and leaders regarding caseload management during interviews
Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized and effective instructional support to students with special education needs in grades 5-8
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet individual student IEP goals
- Communicate regularly with parents, school personnel, and related service providers to monitor student progress
- Attend meetings and professional development sessions as required
- Manage caseload in coordination with school leaders to ensure balanced student support
