Position Overview
The Principal Geotechnical Engineer will lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects, providing expert technical guidance and ensuring the successful execution of foundation design, engineering geology, and environmental engineering tasks. This role aims to enhance project outcomes through innovative solutions and effective resource management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead geotechnical engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Conduct foundation design and engineering geology assessments.
- Oversee environmental engineering evaluations and compliance.
- Perform earthwork analysis and provide recommendations for construction procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success.
- Conduct site investigations and analyze soil and groundwater conditions.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and risk assessments for projects.
- Implement ground improvement techniques to enhance soil properties.
- Utilize AutoCAD and Microsoft Project for project design and scheduling.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide leadership in geotechnical practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Strong knowledge of foundation design, engineering geology, and environmental engineering.
- Experience with soil mechanics and geotechnical analysis is a plus.
- Familiarity with slope stability analysis and groundwater analysis.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Project for design and project management.
- Excellent communication and technical reporting skills.
- Experience in risk assessment and project management is desirable.
