Bail Bond Agent –Hays County, Texas
Location: San Marcos, Texas
Position Type: Full-Time (Rotating 7-Day On / 7-Day Off Schedule)
We are seeking a dependable, professional, and highly motivated Texas Bail Bond Agent to join our team. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while representing our company with integrity. Our agents play a critical part in helping clients navigate the bail process with respect and efficiency.
The schedule for this position is a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation, providing a great opportunity for work-life balance while still earning a full-time income.
Key Responsibilities
Bond Processing & Client Support
- Prepare, review, and execute bail bond documents in compliance with Texas state laws.
- Interview clients and indemnitors to assess eligibility and financial responsibility.
- Explain bond terms, court obligations, and company policies clearly and professionally.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
Court & Jail Coordination
- Communicate with county jails, detention centers, attorneys, and court personnel.
- Verify arrest information, charges, bond amounts, and court dates.
- Submit and deliver required paperwork to jails and courts accurately and promptly.
Investigative & Compliance Duties
- Conduct background checks, verify employment, and evaluate risk factors.
- Monitor clients for compliance, including reminders for court dates.
- Manage skip-tracing activities when needed, following all legal standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions, communications, and payments.
- Provide compassionate, nonjudgmental support to clients and families in stressful situations.
- Answer phone calls, process payments, and assist walk-in customers.
- Uphold the company’s reputation through high-quality service and professionalism.
Schedule & Work Environment
- 7 days on, 7 days off rotating schedule (24-hour availability during on-duty week)
- Work may include visits to courts, jails, and occasionally client locations.
- Must be comfortable working days, nights, weekends, and holidays during on-duty week.
Qualifications
- Texas Bail Bond License (ability to obtain one—county-specific).
- Valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Clean criminal background (per state licensing rules).
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Basic computer and record keeping skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- 46,000-52,000 annually based on experience
- Commission and/or bonus structure available.
- Week-on/week-off schedule providing extended time off.
