Reputable personal injury firm in Sacramento, California is seeking a contract-to-hire Paralegal to join their team. In this role, you will provide essential legal support to attorneys, assisting with case preparation and management. This position requires expertise in discovery, trial preparation, and e-filing, as well as strong organizational skills for managing deadlines and schedules.
Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive support to attorneys by preparing legal documents, conducting research, and managing case files.
• Handle discovery processes, including organizing and reviewing evidence and documentation.
• Assist with trial preparation by coordinating materials, exhibits, and witness schedules.
• Manage e-filing procedures for court documents and ensure compliance with legal standards.
• Maintain and update case calendars to track important deadlines and court dates.
• Collaborate with attorneys to ensure smooth case management and effective communication.
• Utilize case management software to organize and track case progress.
• Support attorneys in personal injury cases, if applicable.
• Coordinate with external parties, such as clients and opposing counsel, as needed.
• Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all legal documentation and communications.
• Proven experience working as a paralegal in civil litigation. Personal injury is a plus!
• Strong knowledge of discovery processes and trial preparation.
• Experience in e-filing court documents.
• Familiarity with case management software and tools.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
