Job Description
Job DescriptionSalary: $32,000 to $85,000 annually
At Avant Supported Living, our mission is to empower individuals with cognitive and developmental disabilities to live with choice, dignity, and independence. We are looking for passionate, purpose-driven leaders to join our team in two distinct residential support roles. While the day-to-day work is similar, we offer different paths to align with your personal and professional goals.
Choose Your Path: ISL Manager vs. Professional Host
The primary difference between these two vital roles lies in their pay structure and level of autonomy. We believe in providing options that allow leaders to fully embrace their potential and work in a way that best suits them.
- ISL Manager: This is a salaried leadership position for those who thrive in a traditional employment structure. You'll lead a team, enjoy the stability of a competitive salary and benefits, and be a core part of Avants direct leadership team.
- Professional Host: This is an entrepreneurial venture. As a Professional Host, you operate a micro-business out of your home, with a pay structure designed to empower you with greater control and financial opportunity. This path is for those who are passionate about empowerment and are ready to be their own boss while making a profound impact.
Your Shared Purpose: A Daily Commitment to Empowerment
Both of these roles are centered on providing dedicated, on-site residential management. Youll be living within a home, providing 24/7 support and cultivating a true sense of belonging and mutual support. This is more than a job; it's about partnering with individuals to create a life that's meaningful, fulfilling, and truly their own.
In this role, regardless of the path you choose, you will:
- Be a Champion of Independence: Provide hands-on support to help individuals achieve their personal goals and live as independently as possible.
- Ensure Health and Well-being: Oversee all medical care needs, manage appointments, and ensure a safe, healthy environment.
- Cultivate Community: Facilitate connections, plan community integration activities, and help build a strong support network.
- Radiate Resilience: Navigate challenges with optimism and perseverance, serving as an unwavering support system and celebrating every triumph.
- Act as a Courageous Advocate: Stand up for the rights of the individuals you support, challenging barriers to help create a more inclusive and accepting community for everyone.
A Home with Heart
Beyond the skills you bring in management and support, we're looking for individuals who have a strong sense of home and are excited to create a warm, stable, and welcoming environment. Your ability to bring a "homemaker" aspect to the role is essential, as you'll be sharing a living space and contributing to its atmosphere. We believe that strong connections and a sense of belonging are essential for a fulfilling life, and that starts right in the home.
A Smart Solution for an Important Career
For those interested in the housing aspect of these roles, Avant is dedicated to ensuring a high-quality living environment for everyone in the community; the unsung heroes and the people we support. We provide access to well-maintained, spacious homes in safe, desirable neighborhoods to support our staff in this crucial work. This arrangement can also be an effective way to make living more affordable by sharing housing costs while receiving a salary or income for the support services provided. It's a "win-win-win" for you, the individuals we serve, and our community.
This unique approach provides a strong foundation for your success, allowing you to focus on the truly important work of empowering others without the added stress of housing instability or high living costs.
Who We're Looking For
We're not just hiring for a position; we're seeking individuals who embody our core values and believe in the limitless potential of every person. You are compassionate, a creative problem-solver, and deeply committed to fostering self-determination. You believe in continuous growth and have the integrity to operate with honesty and transparency.
If you are ready to be a courageous advocate and build a life of purpose, we encourage you to learn more. One of these paths is the perfect fit for you.

Avant's pay structure is designed to be as person-centered as our support models, recognizing that our team members have diverse goals and aspirations. The compensation reflects the level of responsibility, the intensity of support provided, and the specific career path chosen, all within a broad income range of $32,000 to $85,000 annually.
Compensation Philosophy
At Avant, your compensation is directly tied to the impact you make and the value you create within our community. The final income is determined by a few key factors:
- The Service Model: Whether you're providing ISL or Host Home support, the pay structure aligns with the nature of the service.
- Individual Needs: Compensation is adjusted based on the specific support needs and goals of the individual(s) you serve.
- Level of Support: Roles requiring more specialized care, management of multiple individuals, or round-the-clock availability are compensated at a higher rate.
Career Paths & Financial Structure
We offer two distinct career paths that lead to fulfilling, purpose-driven work.
- Full-Time Employees with Benefits: This path is for team members seeking a traditional, stable employment model. These roles, often in a structured ISL setting, offer a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and a clear career ladder. Compensation for these positions typically falls within the lower to middle part of our income range, providing a secure foundation for your professional growth within Avant.
- Independent Contractors (The Professional Host Model): This innovative path is designed for those with an entrepreneurial spirit who want to build their own purpose-driven micro-business. As a Professional Host, you operate with greater autonomy and have the potential to earn at the higher end of our income range. Compensation for these roles is tied to the scope of the service provided, including the number of individuals supported and the complexity of their needs.
Key Financial Benefits & Considerations
- Room & Board: Many of our on-site, residential roles, include company-provided housing. This significant benefit is an effective way to make living more affordable by sharing housing costs while receiving a salary or income for the support services provided.
- Tax Exemption: For our Independent Contractor/Professional Host roles, a portion of the compensation may be considered tax-exempt, offering a substantial financial advantage that contributes to the overall value of the role.
Regardless of the pay structure, every role is deeply rooted in our mission to foster continuous growth and champion the rights and potential of every individual we serve within our beautiful community.
