Summary:
Seeking an experienced attorney to represent low-income clients facing eviction in Bronx Housing Court and at NYCHA termination hearings. The ideal candidate will provide culturally sensitive legal services and manage a full caseload.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent tenants in non-payment and holdover proceedings
- Appear in Bronx Housing Court and administrative hearings
- Draft motions, legal documents, and orders to show cause
- Conduct community outreach and legal workshops
- Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality
- Collaborate with internal teams and support staff
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admitted to the NYS Bar
- 3–5+ years of legal experience (trial and litigation preferred)
- Familiarity with NYC housing law and public benefits
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills
- Experience with low-income or vulnerable populations
- Spanish fluency preferred
