Title: Quality and Safety Manager

Shift: Monday-Friday, 1st Shift (typically 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM). Must have flexibility for overtime, including some Saturdays as job duties demand, and to ensure cross-over with the 2nd shift (Starting at 2:15pm).

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per year, dependent on experience, plus an annual performance-based bonus of up to 10%.

Quality and Safety Manager Role

Our client is hiring a Quality and Safety Manager to ensure their products, processes, and workplace meet all regulatory and internal standards. This role is essential for maintaining certifications, managing quality and safety systems, protecting employee and customer satisfaction, and driving continuous improvement across the plant.

Quality and Safety Manager Responsibilities

  • Maintain a rolling audit schedule, conduct quarterly internal audits, and summarize findings for leadership
  • Audit flagged outbound shipments and returned coils, analyzing trends and escalating systemic issues
  • Monitor the hold list daily, initiate credits and RMAs, and coordinate scrap orders
  • Verify gauges at shift start-up, manage calibration schedules, and ensure vendor compliance
  • Issue Safety and Quality Alerts, track corrective actions to closure, and coordinate any necessary retraining
  • Serve as the primary Safety Manager and Product Safety Representative
  • Lead incident investigations and ensure OSHA compliance
  • Maintain controlled documents, manage customer-specific requirements, and submit PPAPs on time
  • Track and report key performance metrics weekly, monthly, and quarterly for quality and safety
  • Collaborate with production, shipping, sales, and leadership to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement

Quality and Safety Manager Reporting Relationships

This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). You will not have any direct reports.

About You

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Occupational Safety, or a related field
  • Have 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, safety management, or manufacturing operations
  • Demonstrate proven experience managing both quality and safety functions concurrently
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards
  • Have deep familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety protocols
  • Thrive in a hands-on role with a significant presence on the plant floor
  • Excel at both high-level auditing and day-to-day strategic planning
  • Hold experience in steel, metals, or industrial manufacturing environments (strongly preferred)
  • Have familiarity with MIS systems and calibration protocols (a plus)
